PPP to select a woman as runningmate?

The Communications Director for the Ndoum 2012 campaign team, Richmond Keelson, has told XYZ News the Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP) is likely to choose a woman as its vice presidential candidate.

The national and regional executives of the PPP on Tuesday gave Dr. Paa Kwasi Ndoum, the founder of the party, a unanimous endorsement as its presidential candidate for the 2012 polls.

Richmond Keelson told XYZ News the endorsement of Dr. Nduom signifies unity and cohesion in the party.

He added that their candidate and the party make the welfare of women an integral part of the political ideology and that it is most likely that Dr. Nduom will go with a woman.

“The only exclusive I can give is that probably, a woman will be our runningmate because this is a party where we think that in terms of the party’s parliamentary candidates, we are going to give not less than 20 percent to women to also aspire in their capacities.”
