Mr.
Kofi Adams peddled blatant falsehood when he stated categorically on
Citi FM’s Point Blank programme that the NDC has neither entered
appearance nor filed a defense to the writ that he has issued against
the party challenging his suspension from the party.
Speaking on
Citi FM’s Point Blank programme hosted by Shamima Muslim, Mr. Kofi Adams
stated categorically that the NDC failed to respond to the writ that he
has filed in court against the party, stressing that the party failed
to enter appearance let alone file a defense to the suit.
But
checks by The Ghanaian Lens have established that Mr. Kofi Adams lied
through his teeth when he made the assertions that he made on Citi FM.
The
Ghanaian Lens has learnt that the NDC, represented by Lawyer Cudjoe of
the law firm, Law Trust, entered appearance on behalf of the party and
subsequently filed the party’s defense to the suit brought by Kofi Adams
against the party.
While it is conceivable that Kofi Adams may
not have been aware of the NDC’s responses to the legal process, the
fact that Kofi Adams did not say that he was not aware that the NDC has
responded, but went on to state categorically that the party had failed
to respond shows that he is clearly intended to cast the party was
running away from his writ.
It would be recalled that the
National Executive Committee of the NDC recently suspended Mr. Kofi
Adams from his position as Deputy General secretary of the party
following the Ghanaian Lens’ exposure of the a recorded conversation
between him and the NPP’s Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko in which in the
conversation Kofi Adams was heard pledging all that he could do to
ensure that President Mills does not get re-elected.
When this paper first exposed Kofi Adams, he flatly stated that the voice in the recording was not his voice. Subsequently,
Mr. Adams has granted an interview to X-FM’s Sa Cut Amena Etego, during
which interview he conceded that the voice in the recording is indeed
his voice, contending however that the recording was a compilation of
portions of different encounters he has had with the media.
He
contended that portions of encounters he has had with media persons have
been cleverly pieced together so as to create the impression as though
it was a single conversation.
Clearly, Kofi Adams is keeping to
his agenda to destroy the NDC’s chances at the upcoming elections with
his spurious lies that the party has not reacted to his writ; a lie that
is obviously calculated to demoralize supporters of the party,
especially as he went on to state categorically that the NDC is now a
party in “disarray.”
