LAMBUSSIE:Paramount Chief pleads for rehabilitation of dams

Kuoru Alhaji Iddrisu Bamie Yesseh III, Paramount Chief of Lambussie, has asked government to come to the aid of his people and rehabilitate the dams in the area to promote agriculture.
He raised the concern at the celebration of the Mifele-Gbero festival by the chiefs and people of Lambussie Traditional Area.

The festival which is celebrated annually is to thank God and the ancestors for blessing and protecting the people.

He also prayed to the Assembly to provide adequate accommodation for workers. as well as improve agriculture, education and health facilities in the area.

The Chief expressed disappointment at the adulteration of Ghanaian culture and said, "Many of our youth are caught in the act of foreign behaviours and re-associating themselves with negative ways of living."

"If we do not take steps to arrest the growing gap between the old and the new cultures, the very foundation of our heritage will be shaken,” he stressed.
