The embattled New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin
North, Kennedy Agyapong, who has been charged with treason said he is
prepared to die as he arrived in court moments ago.
The case has been moved to the Cocoa Affairs Court at Adjabeng, Accra.
Hundreds of NPP supporters and some national executive members, who have
been waiting since morning, have thronged the court premises to follow
proceedings in a case where the MP has been charged with treason.
Citi News’ Eunice Dufie said a while ago that the case is about to be heard.
“He looks angry…” she reported.
“I’ll not say anything, I want to die, I want to die’,” our
correspondent quoted the beleaguered MP to have said as he stepped out
of a police van.
Earlier, supporters of the party and officials stormed the Fast Track
High Court and the police had to barricade the main entrance to prevent
them from breaking the gates leading to the court premises.
The embattled lawmaker has been in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) over the last 48 hours.
