The suspended General Secretary of the NDC, Kofi Adams has served notice
to the party that it would be committing an illegality if it co-opts
any members of the now defunct DFP as executive members.
He adds that the decision contravenes sections of the party’s constitution.
Kofi Adams told Citi News the party has
already co-opted enough members into the executive as required by the
party’s constitution at both the Regional and National Level.
“The constitution states clearly the number of people that can be called
to onto the executive.
It also states clearly who can attend NEC meetings among others and
so to add them on, which will exceed the accepted number of people on
the executive council, is an illegality.” He said.
Kofi Adams added that the founder was not in full knowledge of the union of the NDC and DFP.
“It was news to him that this merger was on going.
Members of the executive council of the NDC who approved it failed to inform Mr.
Rawlings who is also the chairman of the party council,” he added.
